    (ComputerWorld Canada)
TORONTO -- The new Integrated Power Protection System from Amsdell Inc. of Richmond Hill, Ont., uses a credit-card-sized core inverter that merges power supply and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and eliminates bulky iron transformers now used for DC-to-AC power conversion. "At the cost of a power surge protector but coupled with high-end UPS features, power protection has never been so simple and affordable to home and business computer users, a majority of whom are not using any power protection technology," Amsdell CEO and vice-president Raymond Kwan said in announcing the first application of the company's core inverter technology.
